caught up in the pressure. When he was 18 he had a very hard decision it was either to go to Ole’ Miss like his father, and his brother Cooper, or tennesse like his other brother Peyton. Eli ended up going with Ole’ Miss like Cooper, and his dad. Eli’s childhood was nothing extraordinary, but it did mold him into what he is now.
Certain people in Eli’s life made him to how he is today. Archie Eli’s father went to Ole’ Miss, and that encouraged Eli to also go to Ole’ Miss. Eli was originally drafted number one from the chargers, but word got out that Eli was refusing to play for the chargers. Also according to CBS Sports Archie was the one that told Eli not to play for the chargers. Since Eli would not play for the chargers they traded Eli to the Giants, and that is where he still currently plays. Peyton also influenced Eli quite a bit, since Peyton also was a first round pick by the Indianapolis Colts, so he knew his way around football. Also when Peyton played a team before Eli he would help Eli, and tell him how they won, or lost the game. Growing up Peyton was the closest one to Eli’s age, and he was very protective over him. Also Peyton, and Archie both showed Eli their passion for football even though both of them didn’t force the game on him. Eli wouldn’t be Eli without Peyton, and Archie.
Eli doesn’t just have responsibility on the field he brings it off the field as well.
Eli just won the 2017 Walter Payton Man of the Year award which according to the NFL is given to a player that shows significant positive impact on their community off the field. When Eli learned that there were little to none children’s clinics in the state of louisiana which was Eli’s home state. Eli was very disappointed ,so he made a charity called “The Eli Manning Children’s clinics.” His charity makes children’s clinics all over the United States. Not only does he make his own charity he also supports other charities. Eli Manning participated the “BTIG Charity Day”Also before Hurricane Sandy hit New York Eli helped the “American Red Cross” get prepared for it. Eli Manning is one of the few football players that serve responsibility in the game, and in real
life.
“I’m not doing it to get an award, that’s not what I’m up for.”The child whose dad wasn’t home all the time to help him with football as a child. Although his dad wasn’t around all the time the time where he was home he would help Eli, but never pushed him to play football. The man who by himself made a multi million dollar foundation. The star NFL player that still cares about the little things, and helps out people that need help. That child, man, and star NFL players is Elisha Nelson Manning also known as Eli.
