Eli Whitney Was The Inventor Of The Milling Machine And The Cotton Gin
This is the inventor i chose for this project i chose him because the inventions he made are interesting. Some stuff he made is the milling machine and the cotton gin. I found this interesting because without the cotton gin we will have clothes like today and the milling machine is useful to make really important stuff for the world. But the main product of this project is the milling machine. I chose this inventions because i actually like using that machine.

Eli Whitney is an American inventor he was born on December 8, 1765 in Westboro ,massachusetts and he died in 1825. Whitney studied in yale before inventing the anything. He grew up in a farm and had an affinity for machine work and technology.When he was youth during the revolutionary

Then in 1789 Whitney strated to attend yale college and graduated in 1791 and he wanted to become a lawyer. When he was about to graduate Whitney was hired to be a tutor in South Carolina. He decided to go and in his way to his new position via boat, he met Catherine Greene. The widow of a Revolutionary war general. Though green-seed cotton was widely available it took hours of manual labor to clean it. So Whitney worked thought the winter to devise a machine that was able to quickly and efficiently clean cotton. The machine used a system of hooks,wires and a rotating brush. That was the first invention he ever made.Whitney and miller patented the gin in 1794 with the aim of producing and installing gins though the south and charging farmers. Whitney spent years in legal battles and by the turn of the century agree to license gins an affordable rate. Whitney’s venture would involve the production of arms and champion the interchangeable parts system. Whitney devised milling machines that would allow laborers to slice metal by a pattern and produce one particular, specific part of a weapons. They faced many challenges with the new systems.
