Background of The Study
Inventory systems are tracking systems that provide companies with the ability to trace the supplies and raw materials needed to attain needed products to meet customer demand. Some organizations still operates manual inventory system, from stocks, products, ordering, purchases and etc recorded in a book. This is faced with errors, incompleteness, and insufficient data for analysis. Information regarding stocks, products, sales and purchases are still in black and white which is not properly organized and managed. From the wholesalers to retailer bills, tickets, vouchers, receipts of products are recorded in a book but further operations are not being properly handled. As a result, it is difficult in processing, updating and managing.
The accuracy of the inventory system nowadays (computerized design in particular) affects planning, purchasing and production departments in a positive way. The planning department uses the inventory data to create a production schedule to meet customer demand. Accurate inventory records allow the purchasing department to make an accurate assessment for purchasing materials for production and to ensure the production department has the materials and supplies available to build customer product.
Man has come along his way in doing business transactions with each other. Inventory system put you a head in game. It helps you conduct business transactions with ease as you have to press a few keys. It liberates you from a countless paper works as computation of the day’s scale and keeping track of inventory done automatically. Technology has influenced and greatly simplified almost in every aspect of life today. It is amazing what technology has done to our society and how dependent we have on it, but still, problems in nature, are most inevitable.
