Elvis Presley's Musical Style

Elvis Aaron Presley was born Jan. 8 1935, in Tupelo Mississippi, America. He grew up in a two room shack in the middle of the great depression. He learned how to play guitar from relatives. It wasn't until his family moved to Memphis that Elvis's real musical education began. The diversity of music on Memphis's radio station exposed him to a variety of genres, which eventually influenced his music. He combined different types of music to form a style called rockabilly which became one of the key sounds in rock n roll.
