Embroidery of Rajasthan
Abstract
Indian embroidery has been synonymous with the traditional fabric embellishments. The present study is an attempt to study the various traditional embroideries of rajashthan, explore their contemporary forms and understand the consumer needs and demands of design. The modern method aims at simulation of motifs of rajashtan embroidery documented through books and online journals. The manual method of designing is tedious, consumes a lot of time and is laborious as compared to digital methods, which has more advantage in respect to speed, pattern creations, editing and repeating the motifs which will be beneficiary to the artisans, designers and people associated with the field of fashion & textile design.

Introduction:
Indians are world famous for their magnificent workmanship and for producing exceptionally beautiful textiles. Unity in diversity is expressed not only through culture and customs, but also in costume and decoration. Each state has its unique embroidery expressing the lifestyle of its people, their occupations, customs, thoughts, beliefs, and likings.
The belt comprising the Saurashtra and Kutch regions of the state of Gujarat, up through northern Gujarat and western Rajasthan and into the Thar Parkar district of Sind in Pakistan was once the world’s richest source of embroidery in previous centuries.
Today designers and artists pick up motifs from traditional design and incorporate them in weaves, embroidery and color ways depending on the market demand. However, there is no doubt that stylized version of ancient designs are enjoying new impetus with an ever increasing consumer demand for traditional techniques of embroidery. These
