When explaining multiple reasons to Brutus as to why Caesar shouldn’t be in power, Cassius brought up the time when he had to save Caesar from drowning. Caesar’s drowning in Cassius’ eyes shows that Caesar is weak. Therefore, this weakness will make him a terrible ruler. He saved Caesar from drowning, and now this weak man has become a god while he, Cassius, who saved his life, has to bow to him. Cassius’ remarks clearly show his jealously by him seeing his act of saving Caesar’s life, as a more qualified reason for Caesar not to be in power because he is holding an unrealistic standard for Caesar’s ruling. It is impossible for any human being to not feel jealously or any emotion. It’s what we choose to do with it that matters. Cassius chose to kill Caesar. Hopefully we don’t choose to kill someone, but hopefully we let it go and keep living our lives. If we go around life just feeling jealous about everyone and what they’ve worked hard for then our life is not going to be amazing. We do have the right to feel jealously, but we need to not let those emotions get the best of us. Multiple misinterpretations and jealous emotions have caused the death of Julius Caesar. Like, when Cassius thought the Gods were sending him a message through the weather and when Brutus thought the Romans thought Caesar was terrible through misinterpretations letters that were caused through jealousy. The death of Julius Caesar could have been avoided if all the conspirators could have shown a leadership attitude and would have been happy for the friend and support him instead of kill him for acts he did not
