Chapter 3

4 years later...

"Today's top story; His Majesty Emperor Vader has declared that this year's Empire Day celebrations would take place a week earlier than anticipated, in order to give the 501st Legion sufficient training space for their rehearsals for the Victory Day parade to take place at Monument Plaza. Following the devastating Order 66, the Jedi have been painted as pariahs following an outdated set of teachings, and those who submit themselves to the rule of Emperor Vader were rehabilitated into the newly-created institution known as the Imperial Knights; the Empire's 'Jedi' which pledged their loyalty to the Emperor first and foremost. It helped that Vader was still fondly remembered and admired among younger former Jedi apprentices for his exploits in the Clone Wars. The transition was a lot less bloody than Order 66 itself, in any case.

Once, Empress Vader had been Padmé Amidala, and Emperor Vader, Anakin Skywalker. Once, she was just a Senator, fighting for a cause she firmly believed in. Once, she was just a wife, praying hard for the safe return of the man she loved from the adventures that would immortalize his name in the annals of the Clone Wars. Once, she was just Padmé.

No longer. She is now Empress of the known galaxy and beyond, moderating the punishments of her husband with a soft touch he could never have. She is now a mother, the queen of Prince Luke and Princess Leia, both of whom she love beyond the people she once served, and husband of a man she could not bring herself to love any longer.

Now, she is Empress

. lunges, but Vader repels the blow” and then “aggressively drives Vader back” (82). The duel between Luke and Darth Vader shows that Luke is becoming just like Vader himself because Luke uses aggression instead of the calm, serene nature of the Force. It shows that Luke is impatient and angry because he results to violence first instead of waiting, again, for his opponent to strike first. Luke uses his anger to try and wear down Vader, but instead Vader gets the upper hand because Luke is impatient and does not plan his moves accordingly and Vader beats him. He also lets his anger get to him and strikes wildly instead of letting the Force flow through him like most Jedi allow the Force to do. Lucas uses this to show, ultimately, that Luke is unintentionally following in his father’s footsteps and that without a change in path Luke will most likely go over to the dark side just like his father before him, who was overrun with anger and impatience. In the film, The Empire Strikes Back, Luke unconsciously follows in his father’s footsteps by being corrupted by anger and impatience in his training with Yoda, his encounter with his own soul in the cave on Dagobah, and in his showdown with Darth Vader in the carbon freezing chamber in Cloud…

He watched Ben get killed and he almost died if Han did not come back and save him during the final battle. Han and Ben can be considered as his guardians, who gave him assistance.I think that Dart Vader is the most famous character in the Star Wars universe. Darth Vader is the epitome of evil and Luke is the complete opposite of his father. He was an innocent child then became a great Jedi Knight and turned into the dark side. Han Solo is a funny character, but deep down he is serious and has a kind nature. Lea is a beautiful and strong leader of the resistance and just happens to be Luke's sister which would make her Dart Vader's daughter as well. All these different characteristics, personalities and story development are the main reasons we are drawn. In a way, the Star Wars saga can be relate in our life. For example, A police has a duty to protect, serve, defend the citizens and enforce the law. These are Jedi Knight principles. When a police becomes corrupt due to greed, power, politics or whatever motivations, then we could say that he turns to the dark side.Force is another symbol for courage. There were times when I doubted myself that am capable of doing a task because of lack of experience and self confidence, however I was able to harness the courage to overcome my fears. In the end, I was able to accomplish the task and told myself "I knew I could do it!". I have awakened the force within to face the…

In the article “ The force in ‘Star Wars’ is stupid and immoral” written by Ben Shapiro He states that “The vision of the force in the star wars galaxy is morality free its feelings centered wich another way of saying “selfish” who cares about your feelings?” I think the point of the force is that the light side is about using it to help others, and the dark side is about using it for yourself.…

This is first seen when Sidious tells Vader to try to turn Luke to the dark side and be used as an asset to the empire and the Emperor’s power. Vader follows Luke throughout the movie to get in direct contact with him but he realizes that Luke will only face Vader if Luke’s friends are in danger. Vader goes to Cloud City and holds Luke’s friends captive until he receives word that his prey has finally come to him. Luke battles his way through the invaded city and to the chamber where he meets Vader. In the final battle with Darth Vader Luke is constantly asked to join the dark side and Vader finds himself trying not to kill him. During the battle Vader tells Luke that his place in the new world is with Vader and Emperor and that only Luke’s hatred can destroy Vader (Star Wars V). A Jedi must never hate or love because it is the path to the dark side (Star Wars III). Some archetypes appear in this part of the movie where Luke is clothed in white and is seen as the hero and Vader is seen as a shadow in all black and the temptress. After Luke gets his hand cut off, Vader tells Luke that if Luke joins him in the Empire he can complete his training and begin his reign. Vader further tells Luke that he can kill the Emperor and rule the universe alongside him as “father and son” (Star Wars…

Afterwards, Padme and Obi Wan, travels to Mustafar which consists of volcanoes and flowing lava to either help him or for Obi Wan to kill him. Padme and Vader has an intense conversation of Vader turning to the dark side, and that he is powerful and he can rule anything. Padme then realizes that she cant be with Vader because he is going down a path she cant follow because of what he's done and what he plans to do. Vader begins to start choke her and making her fall to the ground unconscious. Shortly after, Obi Wan and Vader has the most intensifying lightsaber battle, leaving Vaders legs and his left arm detached from his body. Obi Wan leaves him to die and his severed body catches on fire. Palpatine then comes to Vader's rescue, and he is then reconstructed into a black suit of armor. This shows that he lacks empathy, because he started to choke Padme, fighting with Obi Wan, killing everyone inside of the Jedi Temple and the sandpeople, and betraying the Jedis. According to Solomon (1989), "When the focus of life is on determining one's own needs and finding another who can fill those needs and wishes, any relationship is in danger of being flawed by narcissistic expectations. It is increasingly difficult for people to enter into loving relationships and to maintain them once they begin" (p. 4). For Anakin and Padme's relationship it was set to Anakin's own needs and wishes, to become powerful and to rule anything. Because of this, Padme left him due to the fact that he's going down a path she cannot follow.…

In John F. Kennedy’s inaugural address, the author shifts from a powerful tone to an instructive tone by setting an example for other countries, inspiring the younger generations of Americans, and instructing his fellow Americans. Kennedy shows a powerful and tone when he says “Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any for to assure the survival and the success of liberty.” Kennedy also shows a powerful tone to America’s young people when he states, “We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans- born in in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage- and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.” Kennedy then shifts his tone to instructive when he advices his citizens to “ask not what America will do for you- ask what you can do for your country.” Kennedy shifts from a powerful tone to an instructive tone in his inaugural address by setting an example for other countries, inspiring the younger generations of Americans, and by instructing his fellow Americans.…

    4th of July Speech

In reading this speech I see the points Frederick Douglass is pointing to. When Frederick Douglass read this speech in 1852 he reminds us of the birthday of America's independence which at the time was 76 years of freedom. Frederick Douglass is proud that our nation was still young saying that our nation is only in the beginning of carrer. He then reminds us of a time when America was still under the rule of Britain. The people of America were under the English government and England was their fatherland. America's home government did make limitations and restraints in which our fathers differed with. They thought that the limitations put on them were unjust and unreasonable. They protested against this in a respectful and loyal manner because of how England was treating the American Colonies. In form of a resolution they contemplated that their united colonies should become Independent States and that every political connection between them and Britain should be put away. Our fathers have succeeded with this resolution giving us the freedom we have today in America. This made the 4th of July an anniversary day we properly celebrate every year. Patriotism and Pride prompt us to celebrate this day in remembrance of the Declaration of Independence. Douglass's words say to stand by those principles made by the Declaration of Independence on all occasions and places at whatever cost. Douglass then states the case that he is not included in the blessings of American freedom. He also states that the justice, liberty, and independence received by our fathers are shared by the audience but not himself. He then says that the Fourth of July is theirs not his stating that while they rejoice he mourns. This then leads him to discuss the subject of American slavery. He then talks about slavery from a slave's point of view. He says that America has never looked darker than on this 4th of July. Whether discussing about the past or present this nation showed a class of evil…

It is an epic with a great hero, setting, and a lot of captivating action. Star Wars fulfils the Sociology function, By representing a social class and showing terms of wealth as in who has the most power. People for centuries have set up a social classes based on; Strength, Money, Parents, and your accomplishments. A lot of this system is flawed because what it intends to do is to keep the poor poor unless they know how to use their talent and increase their standing amongst the people. This is represented in The First Order and The New Republic. In the first order you gain ranking based on your wartime and actions and how many threats you have killed, The bigger they are the more you are respected. The clones are the lowest ranking in the First order whereas they are all just one person and will forever be just…
