Introduction
This report will look at the importance of employment regulation and the way it is enforced in practise, the role that is played by the tribunal and courts system and how cases are settled before and during formal legal procedures.
1.1 Explain the aims and objectives of employment regulation
When discussing Employment law CIPD 2014 states ‘Employment law addresses the legal rights of employees and employers’
Without legislation and laws to govern what happens at the work place today, employees would be left open to hostile and unfair treatments by the employers and so also, employers would be left unaided on how to control employees that take advantage of situations. Most of the laws with regards to employment are set up in order to protect and be of benefit to both employers and employees without one taking advantage and to ensure fairness and consistency in the workplace.
Employment law has also taken into account the changing demographics and social change of our workforce. In 2011 the UK’s default retirement age (DRA) was removed. The decision about if and when an employee retires is now the employee’s choice. More changes were then introduced regarding
