Emu Woman Analysis
(CAAMA) the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association working with the women of Utopia setup and completed their first project ‘Utopia — A Picture Story, a series of 88 silk batiks . These were acquired by the Holmes à Court Collection in Perth

The Utopia Women’s Batik Group was introduced to painting with acrylic on canvas by CAMMA. Emily painted her first canvas with acrylic paints at this time called ‘Emu Woman’. 'Emu Woman was seen as something special and brought a lot of attention to Emily and her painting. From the time of Emu Woman until her death in 1996 she painted approximately 3.000 pieces - averge of one per day.

Emily exhibited at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art alongside Louie Pwerle (Utopian artist). During
