I strongly agree that men should receive paternity leave from their jobs so that they can connect with their newborns as much as the mother does. Taking care of a newborn baby is very difficult and stressful and is a lot on the mother. Women always have maternity leave from their jobs after giving birth so that they may spend time with their new baby and recover. Apart from the maternity leave, paternity is also very important for men. Some people say that men take a very important role in their families because their wives need their support after delivery day and their infants need their care as well. The others argue that men should not have time off because of making financial problems as a consequence.
These days wives definitely need their husbands help after a child is born. When a woman gives birth to a baby, she is emotionally and physically drained. She herself cannot manage everything well and may even become depressed. If she has that extra support and help during the first couple of weeks, she will be far more relaxed, quickly recovered, less stressed and confident in taking care of their newborn baby. Fathers should have the experience and joy of feeding, clothing, bathing and soothing their children. It can even give the mother time to herself and the ability to take care of her personal needs, while giving fathers the chance to give a little extra help around the house.
The second reason for men to have time off work is for their newborn baby. Not only mom, but the father of the baby also takes an important part in their development. It is said that the new babies need attention and care from mom and dad as well. Dad usually affects his child differently from mom because he is more physically playful which helps the baby develop the coordination and cognitive ability.
