Martin Luther King Jr. should be admired because of his effective leadership. He led the movement of racial equality in the 1950s. He fought passionately for the rights of African Americans and he communicated this vision successfully, consistently, and truthfully. Also, he led the boycott of Montgomery buses in Alabama. After Rosa Parks’ refusal to surrender her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama bus to a white man which led to her arrest. The boycott lasted for a little over a year and the boycott led to the end of the racial segregation on all Montgomery buses. Lastly, he led a founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. In addition, he led marches for blacks’ right to vote desegregation, labor rights, and other basic civil rights.
