Our Opinion
Energy efficiency is actually “getting the same output with less number of components or input”.
The population is increasing and so is the demand for power. For 2-3% increase in population, there is about 8-10% increase in the demand. And if this continues, all the sources will be depleted very soon.
So there is need for energy efficiency. This is a process by which we can utilise the resources efficiently thereby increasing the period for use of those resources. Energy efficient should be done in such a way that it is beneficial both at small scale and large scale purposes and simultaneously it should be available for the common people. The initial cost of energy efficiency maybe high but the life cycle cost is low.
Efficiently Energy Conversion
If we are more efficient with the energy, there will be less pollution, less reliance on foreign oil and increased domestic security and also it provides saving of foreign exchange promoting to
GDP growth….
We will be less dependent on other countries for the imports.
Energy Intensity continues to decline
Why to be Energy Efficient ?
• Energy efficiency saves you money.
• Energy efficiency improves the economy.
• Energy efficiency is good for the environment.
• Energy efficiency improves national security.
• Energy efficiency enhances quality of life.
Technological change is the key
• Installation of energy-efficient infrastructure, equipment and appliances is essential for
– Meeting energy demand
– Managing energy security, and
–
