English 111 I have never been a good writer. Although I did learn grammatical skills, these skills never stuck with me. Writing for me has too many facets, I would prefer not to deal with. Now I came to realize, that without having a writing standard that anything I expressed in literacy would be meaningless. English 111 has helped me realize that there are three vital parts of writing being diligent, focused, and determined helps ensure safety in life.
Additionally, diligence is necessary to make sure there is clarity. Nonetheless, I had to realize that english had guidelines and no short cuts, which took getting used to. For example, when doing math there is always a way to get around “hardwork” while in English there isn’t; the English process is strict. Working hard isn’t always something that should be dreaded, I honestly started out horribly but started to show steady progress. The increase of each grade showed me my effort to make my work easier to understand while also showing that hard work t pays off.
Furthermore, I had to learn to focus and stay on topic when writing my papers. I can
admit that this skill I still have not mastered yet but I do feel that I am doing better with it now.
Making sure that I stay focused on what is going on is not only important in my writing but also in my life. Being able to stay on topic no matter the outside reactions, or the thoughts that may be in my head is important. Many times when I sit down and write I think of a million different
things that I can say and second guess the power of my initial thoughts. Therefore, I now realize that I have to stay focused and not only understand my thoughts but also focus on believing in my strength not only in english but also in my decision making.
In addition, determination is one thing that I desperately needed when going through
English 111. It can be overwhelming after trying
