When we use the word “education”, it is not just limited to the science books, Shakespeare’s plays, the rather boring moral science lessons, or the mathematics textbooks we all dreaded in our formative years; it also includes the imparting of culture and values from generation to generation as one of its fundamental aspects. It has been rightly said that “education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance”.
Firstly, the only person who truly controls how educated I am, is me. My education feeds my intelligence, and since I want to be an intellectual, I want an exemplary education. In the end, no one can transfer knowledge from one brain to another. For example, learning by watching TV or reading books gives people a huge amount of information about anything they are interested in such as mathematics, current news, other countries' cultures and so on. Apparently, people may become more useful and civilzed if better educated.
Secondly, although education has a significant influence on life, the average education is not the same in different areas. As a result, strategies are being made to resolve the problems. Without education, life would be disastous and detrimental. The present system in many boards does not enable a student to realize what he/she is good at. Due to the lack of opportunity to find out their skills, students remain unsure when it comes to what they really like as they do not have the occasion to show their talent. Also our education system is unforgiving.
Education is not just what your major is, it is also what you learn along the way. It's about learning about life and who you are. It's a journey, and for those of us fortunate enough to embark on that journey I hope that we make the most of it.
It’s my life, it’s now or never, I ain’t gonna live forever.
Don’t just sing it.
