Success is mostly recognized by the person who succeeds, but most do not realize the factors that upturn someone to great success. A well-presented book of people conquering success is, Outliers: The Story of Success, written by Malcolm Gladwell, lists prime examples of what it takes to be a true Outlier. An Outlier is someone that is above normal and achieves success beyond the regular. Gladwell demonstrates that almost all of society’s success stories are a paradigm: a pattern of fortunate events. Realizing that maybe we should be more aware of the paradigm of success in our world. Our perspective over the years have been that people complete success on their own, however, success has other driven forces. A true outlier does not obtain random…

While some people equate having wealth and power as being successful, that is often not the case. Although earning and having money is an important aspect of our economy and existence, earning large sums of money is not an accurate way of measuring nor determining if a person is successful or not. Those who find true satisfaction in life, regardless of their wealth or social status, are the ones who have reached true success. As put into words by award-winning author Maya Angelou, "success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." True success is achieved when an individual has reached a point in their life where their goals and achievements are meaningful and…

The main point of this essay is to show the variety of aspects in success in the American culture. This essay was meant to emphasize that although success does have a definition; it is based on how people view success, and on how they determine a person successful. In this paper, I explored educational, political, and financial success, and incorporated which one was determined as the most important by many of my peers, as well as adults, both male and female. When you look someone rich or famous you automatically assume that they are successful. However, this is only an outward appearance. Most of the time these “famous” people are stressed way beyond what is noticed by the public. They are not truly happy because they are way too concerned with the way they live their lives since people are constantly watching their every move. The true meaning of success is to have “a good result, happy outcome” (“Success”). Estee Lauder once said, “I never dreamt about success, I worked for it.” Success is setting a personal goal and working hard toward it, and ultimately your hard work and dedication leads to a favorable outcome.…

The true definition of success is the attainment of wealth, position and honors. I see success as a positive road to life. A path that leads you to a great healthy life. My generation finds it as graduating high school on time and going to college to have a career. Success means having a good amount of money to live your life wealthy. Quote “The tragedy of life doesn’t lying not reaching your goals. The tragedy lies in not having no goal.” Said Benjamin mays. Reaching your goals the right way and completely finished. I believe that completing your goals will lead you to a successful life. It will lead you to having a great life to live. How’s that? You follow your goals and you get what you want. You complete your life by following what…

Reading Carol Carter’s story: Write Your Own Success Story, it is a really good way of getting motivated to change the laziness ways that every student has. What she says is that leaving apart procrastination and attending our priorities in time will make the difference in our future. Carter gives an idea of in what way to turn once we are in college or working. Believing in yourself, planning and knowing which are your weaknesses and strengths so you can work on them, are the keys of writing your own success story. Nothing is luck but effort, as Carter´s said: “Nothing happens magically. lf you want to be a success, you are going to have to take personal responsibility for your life.” And “While successful people may appear lucky, they, in fact, illustrate the maxim that "luck favors the prepared mind."” So, in the real success life, luck has nothing to do. Luck is for improvised people. Real success is the result of constancy required, responsibility, effort, organization and balance. Nothing´s more important achieve a goal than taking action. Wishing something with all your heart will be the trampoline to make it happen. No matter how many obstacles you have, if you make mistakes they´ll teach you well to be better. But we may start now to make decisions, to make mistakes, to ask questions, to be curious, and the most important: to learn. For me, reading and writing all this is a good way to say to myself: I can do it. I have the opportunity to be here in a good college, having the best education I can have, I have support from people I care who give me advices, constructive criticism, and who tell me to stop worrying and instead start doing. So from now on, success depends only on me. I put my head in the prize I want, and that´s what I´m going to get once I have done all the work that is needed to get there.…

G.K. Chesterton english poet, writer, philosopher, and critic in his excerpt “The Fallacy of Success” (All Good Things, 1915) attacks the current perception of success. Chesterton develops his argument through the use of Greek mythology as well as various references to modern selfhelp books and repetition. He writes to abolish the idea that success is purely based upon wealth in order to reshape society’s current perception into one of true success, where everything and everyone can be successful.…

A man can get whatever he wants, provided he believes it to be his, and works for it. Success is a matter of individual effort only to the extent that each person must decide, in his or her own mind, what is wanted. This involves the use of imagination. A man may seem to be successful, but not happy. Such a person is not truly successful in life. To achieve success, one needs to be in perfect harmony with oneself and use the powerful force of one’s subconscious mind.…
