Nowadays English is used almost in all spheres of international communication: business, politics, science, culture, etc. Speaking English is one of the main conditions to get a good job. For this reason one may think that English is the only foreign language worth learning to feel confident in the society. But is that really so? I strongly believe that a modern person should learn more languages or speak any other language but English for some reasons. To begin with I would like to point your attention on the nature of any language. Through learning any of it we are coming to understanding of cultural aspects of other nation. The better you are aware of the way of thinking of your partner the less you will suffer from misunderstanding. What is more, I think that monopoly of one language automatically makes other languages as second-rated ones. There is no nation which would find it acceptable. To avoid this and to take into account interests of other nations many international organizations, for example, use several languages as official. As opposed to above mentioned ideas, learning foreign languages is not easy and takes a lot of time.
