“Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people” by Eleanor Roosevelt. Many average people have an extraordinary ability to change the future, and mark history through daily actions. Throughout the years average people have formed groups impacting the course of history significantly, through the Civil War and influencing speeches, steering the future into a new direction every single day. A single person, or a born leader, who can influence others are the ones to start the influential movement of history; however zilch will amend unless an ordinary group is willing to back him/her up. When Martin Luther King Jr. expressed his “I Have a Dream” speech, without his followers he would not have had the ability to impact the judgment of others. One would not have listened or had been mesmerized if there seemed to be no one else there reassuring the valid point of Martin Luther King Jr. Furthermore, a crowd of average people who exhilarated the “I Have a Dream” speech were the ones who changed history; creating new paths to a brighter future. However, not all history was changed by a speech. There were wars, where innocent people risked their lives straining to make a statement. These people were farmers and traders (lowest of class) but formed groups and fought for states’ rights and slavery; known today as the civil war. All together these standard people became momentous to today’s history, all because they had a reason to fight. Although one might argue that many people fail at changing history, or, a daily action such as walking a dog is not going too notably change history; except a person can change the future if that person is willing to devote their time to it. All one has to do is strongly deem, and persuade others to follow them by making an articulation or compelling statement of what their topic is regarding.
