The article Management based critical success factors in the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning systems was motivated by conflicting results in earlier studies examining critical success factors in Enterprise Resource Planning implementation, many of which are anecdotal in nature. This study began by examining the literature that exists on the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning systems. Much of this literature contains recommendations that are untested and unstructured. Specific recommendations were proposed and tested.
