Entrance Exam
There I was, staring at the pass comfirmation letter from my high school. I couldn’t be more proud of me and the effort I gave in order to pass the entrance exam. So arrogant I was that whenever my friend asked me how I prepared for the exam I would say: “studying is for losers man!!! I didn’t even bother to revise the info” But well, the truth is completely the other way around =.=
In the 9th grade I was lazy and would always find ways to avoid studying. I would choose an ak-47 and go take down the bad guys in “Modern warfare 2” rather than my pencil and the bunch of homework on my table. And so, half of the school year passed by without me knowing anything until my homeroom teacher passed the high school application papers to the whole class. I was given a wakeup call. Suddenly i realized that I didn’t know anything about the subjects that would be chosen for the exam. I didn’t know how to solve an equation or to write an essay. But then I thought: “there is still time, what’s the hurry. I can still study for the exam later”. So… with that unbelievably stupid thinking, 4 months passed by without giving me any warning. It was then that I came to realized that there wasn’t much time, I have to do something. The first idea that occurred in my mind was cheating. Yes. I could do it easily, it was just the matter of security. I couldn’t sleep at night because of the thought that I would be caught cheating. Eventually I decided to study cause I chickened out >.<. The last month before the test I freaked out. I didn’t know what to do T.T. I studied but I just couldn’t understand the lessons. And then a miracle came into my life – my cousin ^^ I begged him to tutor me and finally he said yes :x My new routine began. I started studying at 6am, took a short break at 8am, then continue till noon and then my cousin came by and checked my work. Just like that I prepared for the exam. I even came up with an awesome technique that can promote the rate the rate of my study. The technique is quite simple and I’m sure that everybody has been in this situation before. First you need to drink a lot of water and then just let nature happens… the important thing is that you need to hold ‘’it’’ in. Well the “adrenaline” that rushes through your brain will help you think faster :D. Soon, the exam day arrived. I made sure that I had prepared everything: pens, pencils, erasers,… and drink lots of water too. Because the exam knowledge was covered in the info I revised so I did quite well and received a pretty decent score: 57.5 ^^.
That was a very close call for me but I woke up soon enough to save myself. Now I’m in grade 12th and about to enter college. Whatever, there is still time ^^. Play comes first

An experience that makes me proud during my first year of school was failing. It was a wake-up call, a realization that I could overcome a difficult obstacle due to the mistakes I had made. Therefore, I dedicated all my time to make-up all the classes I received low grades in. I pushed myself to persevere and not become a high school drop-out; I refused to be labeled a failure. I worked twice as hard in the classes I had received low grades; so when I was taking them again I would pass with a better grade I would be satisfied with. I managed my time efficiently to give myself enough time for each class and receive help when I asked certain teachers who offered tutoring. I took advantage of all extra credit assignments when offered, I believed…

Therefore, I decide that I had to work twice or three times as much as other kids in my grade just to earn a decent grade. My failures taught me that sometimes we have to give up friend, family, and my spare times to work on homework and study extra for all of my class.I came home everyday to look at my notes and study with my sister for hours until I was sure I knew what I was doing. I learned that having a disability doesn’t make me any less smarter than other people. Soon after, I learned how to speak, write and read English. because of all of the effort I put into learning soon after, I was mastering all of my class. Getting Student of the Month three times in a row, most outstanding student, as well as most improved student. I liked earning all of this awards because it told me that my hard work did pay off. One of my more enriching experiences occurred during my freshman year of high school. For years, I strove for straight A's, and for years I received them. Over time I constructed a mentality, and underlying self-confidence that I would receive an A no matter what. Due to my over-confidence, I was under the impression that I would not have to put forth much effort; however, near the conclusion of the second semester, I had a B in Pre-AP English 9. Despite my last push to earn a 90% in the class with the concluding assignments of the semester, my grade was finalized lower than I had wished for. It felt as if a five pound ball of lead materialized in the pit of my stomach. This experience, at first, devastated me to the fullest extent, and I…
