Environmental Pollution To America's Waterways
This article specifically discusses environmental pollution to America's waterways and the sources of this pollution. The two main sources of agricultural pollution are from pesticides and fertilizers sprayed on crops and also toxins from waste elimination on CAFOs. The clean water act is broken down to show what it excludes and how it actually promotes pollution from the lack of regulation in relation to the agriculture industry. Aspects of the Clean Water Act exclude agricultural practices and leave the states responsible to regulate pollution but don't mandate it or provide financial assistance to do so. Known as direct potable reuse, this method would intensify the purification process and skip the reservoir, sending it straight to the tap.
