Environmental sustainable is the maintenance of factor and practices that contribute to the quality of environment on a long-term basis for the whole world.
Air quality: Cathay Pacific understand the Flight operations affect local and other countries air quality. They replace different things to improve this problem. Replace the vehicles to the lower emission, improve kitchens technology in a hydroflow technology and reduce diesel consumption.
Noise management: Cathay Pacific bought a new airbus is designed to reduce the aircraft noise. Such as NY and London are getting most noise restrictive night period. These new aircraft can improve the problem of noise.
Waste management: in minimizing harzardous waste. CX explore sustainable products or processes into their operation. Staffs receive training and updates to ensure on the use and disposal of these chemicals, equipment and waste. CX try to reduce the problem of Jettisons and fuel spills. If this problem comes out, they will set the area and using a liquid vacuum machine to clean up.
Water: Cx reduce using water in different activity, such as aircraft washing, patable water use at CX and Dragonair house and change the new machine to reduce the water consumption. It is resulting in nearly a 30% reduction from 2009.
