Bio
My name is Óliver Aaron Caro and this is my senior year at
HPU. I am from Rosarito, Baja Calif. México; a small beach town on the Pacific north coast of México on the Baja
California peninsula. The small beach town I grew up in is very similar to Hawai‘i, in its style and mood. I really enjoy living in Hawai‘i, since it's something similar to my hometown, yet at the same time, it's very different. When I'm not in school, I like to play, dance and listen to music (predominantly Latin music). I really like to surf, hike, and just hang out with friends and have a good time.

At school, I take arts as an area of study, first we study theory of art and then we express what we learned in the workshop. I have two brothers and a sister. My sister is in the 12th grade, she goes to Yavne High School as well. I love my school very much, and PE is my favorite class because I think I'm good in it. New York! Moving to New York changed my life. At 17, I was lucky enough to be offered a piano course in the United States, the Stony Brook International Piano Festival, organised by who would later become my teacher, Dr José Ramón Méndez, and his wife, Dr Amy Gustafson. Thanks to having been in that festival, I had the opportunity to perform in New York's Steinway Hall. This experience was a life-changer, as it was then when I realized that New York was the place where I could better develop my career. It was the hardest decision I had to make, but I think I chose rightly. I'm very happy there.…

When I was a little girl I use to always go to the park and while swinging I would imagine how much cooler it would be to live in a big city with lots of people and many things to see and experience. I never would have thought that at my age I would be sitting and relishing all the amazing times I had in my small home town. The family traditions, slow living and many childhood memories hold my heart in my hometown of Norfolk Nebraska. The boldly colored green grass, light brown cat tails lining the lake shore and fishing poles hanging off a dock all are vivid in my mind when thinking about the weekends I experienced in my adolescence.…

    Texas Turning Point

    • 644 Words

Most students grow up with the same friends and same house all the way until high school graduation. Growing up in a family that moves quite a bit, these friendships and houses often change. I have moved numerous times and have attended a number of schools throughout my life, but my recent move has affected me the most. Originally living in Texas from the time I was six months old, I moved to Peoria, Arizona, when I was nine years old. However, just before my sophomore year in high school, my family and I moved back to Texas from Arizona. This move was a major turning point in my life because I had to adapt to a new area and school where I had to make all new friends.…

However, my family moved to Tucson, AZ and that is when I went to school for the first time. The transition from being home schooled to a place where I did not know anyone was never racking. I was not around people I knew . Now living in a different state, my mother and grandmother found relief from being able to send us to a better school. While my mom worked at a hospital, my grandmother was our caretaker. My grandmother relied on my aunt whom also lived in the area to drive us to school every morning and pick us up. But occasionally that would be an issue, because my aunt had a job, went to college and had her own children to take care of. One year later, my grandmother became sick and we moved back to Philadelphia because there were better…

I've lived in twelve different states and a foreign country because my dad was in the Air Force. Which means I've had a lot of friends come and go. When I moved to Andover, Kansas, I had met and made some of the closest friends I've ever had and still talk to them everyday. Every time I go on vacation to Andover, it's always nice to have friends and people you know when I get there.…

I lived in a small town with my parents and my youngest sister in the state of Jalisco in Mexico at the age of twelve. I was born in San Jose, Ca and raised in Sunnyvale, Ca until I left with my parents to Mexico a few years later. As a kid, I had to transfer to many schools nearly every other year. At one point I even got used to it. It was like the older I was, the less nervous I got on my first day of school. Especially in my high school ages. My high school years were the years that truly opened…

After a long day of work, school, and kids, we all meet at our parent’s house and unwind, so that is why my parent’s house is my favorite place. It is funny because we all have our own place but we stay at our parent’s house just like we still live there. From the time we get off work or out of school we go straight over our parents house, and when the kids get out of school they ride the bus over to my parents. So I guess I’m not the only one who is crazy about being at my…
