* The Word Processor 1. Word Processing- is the process or system performed by the word processor to achieved a desired output after typing & printing a document. 2. Word Processor-is a computer program (MW) that enables user to perform word processing functions like typing , editing, formatting, saving & printing a document. 3. File- is anything stored into the computer memory & mostly a collective data represented by a file name.

4. Document-is written information or data entered in a word processor that has doc extension when saved.

* Basic Feature of Word Processor

1. Insert Text- allows user to insert characters or numbers in any place within the document. 2. Delete text- allows user to easily erase characters, words, lines &pages. 3. Cut &Paste-allows user to remove (cut) any part of the document & transfer (paste) it to another part of the document. 4. Copy-allows user to duplicate (copy) a section or any part of the document. 5. Page size& margins-allows user to define margins & page size that will correspond to the paper size to the user desired format. 6. Search & Replace- allows user to direct the word processor in searching for a particular word or phrase found in the document. His also capable of automatically replacing a particular word or phrase for a new set of word phrase. 7. Word wrap-will automatically allows a word to move to the next line after the previous line has been fully filled. 8. Print-allows user to transmit the document into the printer, hence producing a hard copy paper copy.

* Additional Features of Word Processor

1. File Management- this feature allows user to create, delete, move and search file. 2. Font Specification- allows user to change the font appearance, font type and font size. 3. Footnotes and Cross References- automates the numbering and placements of footnotes and enable user to cross reference of other
