NEED IDENTIFICATION
  

Human –Machine interaction goes hand-in hand with User interface design. With mobile quickly emerging as a viable source of web based content ,designers need to know how to adapt and keep up with user. These ‘User Centric’ designs forces us to craft interface in tune with the psychology, culture and ergonomics within the context of an audience on the go It’s not just about how the design looks , but how it feels in your hand.

The more the person have to click through screens just to enter a small amount of data ,the less enthusiastically they will be about working Reliability and speed in mobile operations and data synchronization are also decisive for the ergonomics of a software product .

When we talk of mobile interface design we often think that the big challenge of the small screen is squeezing the app into tiny quarters. In fact ,designing a handheld mobile app involves far more subtle considerations of context and ergonomics. Hoe to make the interface irresistible ? How to craft comfortable ergonomics for fingers and thumbs? How to dodge the usability gotchas of handheld devices? How to turn tiny-touchscreen constraint to your

The sleek design of the BlackBerry is what makes it stick out; the rather large keyboard is a key factor in its design which interties to its functionality. Its QWERTY keyboard takes up more than half the phone, allowing easy contact and usage when typing messages and e-mails. Although the keyboard is a strong core competency of the blackberry phone, it is argued by some that having the large keyboard restricts the screen, restraining its ability to perform graphically. However the blackberry is one of the only phones that include the QWERTY keyboard which allows messages to be typed very quickly due to its keyboard like design. Bradley (2011) ‘EMA found that 52 percent of mobile users in large enterprises depend on BlackBerry now’ which is why its keyboard like design is ideal for businesses being able to send and receive things quickly. With Businesses operating in such a dynamic world, more people require…

Today, computerized mechanism and ICT (information and communication technology) have a significant impact on human life process. What was on the top of the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is now performing a vital role in each human life. Due to the swift growth in the technology industry and hardware and software development computerized systems and machines are used on an everyday basis by almost everyone, even people from different fields which are not related to computing. Major sectors such as aviation, healthcare, banking and education adopted computer technology to improve productivity and efficiency. Interaction between human and machine occurs in user interface and the communication mode between user and a computer system is influenced by the design of user interface (Dix et al, 2004). Poor design criteria in the user-interface will produce difficulty and waste of time when user try to interact with a computer. As Shniedermann (2000) claim “Designers of older technologies such as Postal Services, Telephones, and television have reached the goal of universal usability, but computing technology is too difficult to use for many people. One survey of 6000 computer users found an average of 5.1 hours per week wasted trying to use computer. More time is wasted in front of computers than on highways” (Shniedermann, 2000). When designing a user interface for a user centered system, designers and developers must concentrate on human factors and ergonomics to validate the usability, approachability and user safety of the system (Preece.J, 1994). And human factors must be taken into account at the beginning stages of the design. More often, it is taken into consideration at the end stages of the design, this will lead to costly changes or unwilling to change the design. A good interactive system must have the both usability and technology to produce an effective output (Collura, 2004).…

It is predicted that by 2014, there will be more mobile users than Internet users. The people are quickly transitioning their lifestyle to use a more convenient phone that allows them to engage with their work while running their own personal errands such as taking care of their children. “Statistics indicate that 48 percent of users apply their smartphones to aid in their work.” Although this may make lives easier, the author questions its effectiveness. Are smartphones positively influencing employees and their work progress or slowing them down? This is the problem that the authors study within this article.…

If you ever wondered what is the most overlooked aspect of design craft, look no further – it’s user interfaces. Good or bad, user interfaces are everywhere: on websites, on mobile phones, televisions sets, wrist watches, airplanes and washing machines. Some user interfaces take two people to operate. Not my cup of tea.Whenever there is a user, there is user interface. Likewise, whenever there is a frustrated user, there’s usually a case of bad user interface. As graphic and web designers, our job is not only create good looking stuff – it’s to create stuff that’s actually easy to use and creates minimum user interface friction. In other words, we need to think how people are actually going to use our websites or apps and do our best to make their life easier. If you think that still involves just a few properly placed buttons and links, think again – some of the highest paying projects on 99designs require solely user interface design, for web or mobile applications. It’s both an art and a science, with very few stars in the arena (Apple being one of them). To get started, let’s take a look on current trends in user interface design.…
