A choice that Esmé makes that displays her teaching philosophy is when she takes away the library from the entire class after a comic book has gone missing. I agree with the choice that Esmé made, and probably would have made the same choice. Choosing to take away the library, even though it killed her inside, displayed to her students that she expected honesty from them and had the same honest expectations for everyone in the class. Additionally, by taking away the library, Esmé displayed to her class that she maintained a higher level of expectations for her class than what they experienced in the
