Espana Flag Research Paper
I did my project on the Espana flag. The flag was officially adopted on December 19 (my birthday) 1981. The flag was designed by King Charles the third.

First the red and yellow. The exact meaning of the colors are still being argued about but the oldest legend says that the red represent the king's blood and the yellow represents his gold shield. So it mean the king's blood in his gold shield. The yellow band in the middle of the red is about 2 times the size of the red bands because the coat of arms is on the yellow band.

Now the coat of arms. It's the design on the yellow band. Crown: Kingdom of spain. Castel: king of Castilla. Lion: Kingdom of Leon. Pallet Gules: kingdoms of Aragon. Chains: Kingdom of Navarra., Fleurs de lis: Royal

The Coat of Arms created for El Patróns Empire, Opium, is based off of literal and metaphorical ideas. For example the entire reason for his empire was his anger that all seven of his siblings died. He believed he deserved the lives they did not get. Also Opium would be nothing without Poppies so to support my shield I used Poppy Flowers. Notice that there are seven flowers supporting the shield, each of the flowers represents a sibling he lost. The smallest flower represents the sister he had that throughout the story El Patrón said died of typhoid and was barely tall enough to see over the windowsill “no, not even on tiptoe”. The crest and crown of my shield are meant to resemble El Patrón himself. In english El Patrón means the boss, to…

Early in the Americans, the Red, White, and Black came together and colluded. The Red, being the Indians, were enslaved, making them a part of this collusion. “Including the domestic labor that native wives could provide; in some cases intermarriage was a form of labor recruitment.”(22). The Blacks, or Africans, were brought to America solely as slaves for the Europeans. The Whites, are the ones who had enslaved both the Indians and the Africans. “As early as 1502, Europeans settlers began to import slaves from Africa” (23). Also they were the most important factor, because without them, there would have been no collusion. The Europeans were the ones that started colonizing the New World and bringing in slaves to help do so.…

The exact image of warring flowers was a late invention, and the general idea of each rose being a factional symbol originates in Shakespeare’s day. In Renaissance literature, writers linked the House of York with a white rose and the House of Lancaster with a red rose. For instance, in Henry VI, Part One, Act II, scene iv, lines 25-135, Shakespeare depicts the minor lords as choosing their factions symbolically by plucking either white or red roses from a garden. The play dates back to 1592 or so. For instance, in lines 124-128, we read the following:…
