Factors Affecting the LET Performance of the BSED English Major Graduates

Chapter 1
Introduction
The Problem and its Background For a teacher, one of the best thing that could complete her happiness as a teacher is to have a license and to pass all the examination required in the institution. And a teacher training institution is an important component in the school system, which constitute the foundation in expressing the ideals of a people, develop and transmit its knowledge to her students. As a teacher, it is very important for her to e noticed especially with her title and for her to achieve that title she needs to pass the Licensure Examination for Teacher. According to the law Republic Act. No. 7836 also known as the "Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994" signed by the former President Fidel V. Ramos, he stated that “the law mandating the professionalization of teaching is significant not only because it transfers the licensing of teachers to the Professional Regulations Commission but specially because it recognizes in clear and unequivocal terms the need to continuously upgrade the competencies of teachers”. So the training institution assumes the responsibility of economic transformation through effective teacher education. Without the license of the teacher they are not given the opportunity to teach and give in the knowledge they have to the students. Our institution should help our graduates to pass the LET so that they can provide teachers in their society.
Definition and Terms The following terms are conceptually defined for clearer and deeper understanding of this study: BSED Graduates. As used in this study, they are the one gives the opinion why there are sudden failure and the factor on the LET performance of the BSED graduates. Perception. In this study, it defines the factors affecting the Let Performance of an individual in the field of BSED with a certain variables.
Statement of the Problem 1. What are the major factors affecting the LET performance of the BSED graduates English Major? 2. Which subjects where the BSED English Major Graduates perceived them as strong? Which areas they are weak? 3. Which areas should be strengthening in the LET reviews?
Conceptual Framework The figure below represents the relationship between the factors that affecting the LET Performance of the BSED English Major graduates.

Significance of the Study This study aims to determine the factors affecting the LET Performance of the BSED English Major Graduates. And to provide information that would be beneficial to the following person in the field of Education: The students, so that they can be prepared enough before taking their LET and be aware of the of the common problems they will meet before taking the examination. The school administrators would be informed of the prevailing conditions of the failure of some BSED English Major graduates.
Scope and Limitation The main concern of this study is to evaluate the existing factors that affect the LET Performance of the BSED English Major graduates.
