about when they came across Native Americans. Although their encounters had different outcomes it’s something they were both able to tell their people about. While on their trips, unfortunately both struggled with the weather. Traveling overseas was one of the few ways to get to your destination, but you never know what to expect. William Bradford was nothing like John Smith.
They both had different personalities. When William Bradford was on his voyage he told people about his hardships in the New World. I mentioned before that they were both leaders but William Bradford was the leader of the Plymouth colony. Bradford had a different purpose for his writings. In his diary, he wanted to tell future generations about all his experiences in Colonial America. Even though he talked about all the bad things he also mentioned the store of wild turkeys. William Bradford was a much more giving leader though. He did much more for his colony than John Smith. On the other hand, John Smith was a very selfish leader. John Smith’s purpose of his document was to get colonists to the New World and tell them it’s better than England. William Bradford was leader of the Plymouth colony but John Smith was more than a leader for a colony, Smith was president of Jamestown. On one of his trips he was captured by a tribe of Powhatan and nearly beaten to death. His colony struggled with food supply. And due to the fact that he was selfish he kept food all for
himself. In conclusion, John Smith and William Bradford were two legendary men. They had their differences, but at the end of the day they both did much to maintain their colonies. Both, Bradford and Smith liked to prove they were brave. Although one was more selfish than the other they accomplished new things for their colonies. In other words, they encouraged settlers to join them and explore new things to help make their colonies better.
