Aims and values need to be promoted as much they can whether it’s in school literature or on their website. This is where parents and others first go on to create their first impression of the school. They can promote it by creating links with the local communities and working together. There are many ways to promote aims and values. Some events my school does are:
• Charity fundraising events
• Work of school governors
• Support and visits from parents
• Visitors from place of worships
• Local community events such as funfairs
Having these links and events will allow students to understand that their learning is important to life outside of school.
4.2 Describe how laws and codes of practice promote pupil wellbeing and achievement
The main reason as to why there are laws in school is to promote the wellbeing and achievement of students. There are laws to create community belonging with the schools and the community whilst still maintaining their individuality. Promoting the wellbeing of pupils is very important as seen by the Children Act 2004 and 2006. This is so schools can follow the current legislation allowing parents, staff, governors and other people involved in the school to work with clear guidelines and appropriately. It is important to know where the policies are kept as there are a lot to know, so when needed it is useful to have a look. Schools will have different policies, but they will need to show its purpose and the aims and responsibility of staff.
