Essay on the history of Java, which is a modern computer programming language.
What is computer programming? Computer programming is in short, creating a sequence of instructions that enable the computer to do something. Computer programming has come a long way since it was first introduced in 1945. 'Short Code' was the first programming language for electronic devices. It required it's programmer to change the numbers by hand. This lead to programming where all of the calculations were automatically. FORTRAN was one of the first major programming languages. IBM used this language for scientific calculations.

Today, there are over a hundred programming languages. Java is a language which was created in 1991. Java got its name from the developers as its believed, James Gosling, Arthur Van Hoff, and Andy Bechtolsheim. It's original name was Oak, but this name was already taken by another language. This new language had a team that consisted of less than 30 people. They wanted to create a more simple and efficient language. Java offered the ability to turn dull things into interactive, dynamic, animated documents strengthens by distributed, platform independent applications. With these abilities java was bound to success in the programming world.

There were many great things about Java. It was simple and familiar, that is to say, it looks similar to C and C++ for programmers of those languages, except Java did not have the troubling things in C and C++. It was object oriented; a program created in Java is in essence the togetherness of various objects which are classes. Because it is an interpreted language, it requires only the Java Virtual Machine. As long as you have the Virtual Machine on your computer, all programs would work. Since it doesn't require much, Java can be used on all or most computers. With all of these great features, Java has the potential to revolutionize the future of the programming industry.

Java was created in 1991 by James Gosling. He recruited a group of engineers to develop a new programming language targeting consumer devices. The language was given the name “Oak”. It was later discovered the original name had been taken by another company for their programming project which resulted in Oak being renamed to Java. The Java group developed a language that would share similar characteristics with C languages but fewer bugs, more versatility, hardware independence, and reduced development times.…

This third of the prison population that was placed in solitary confinement, one day may be released into society and asked to be socialized, when they were never rehabilitated, but rather segregated. The correctional facility is furthering the damage to inmate’s that are already psychologically unstable and furthering dissocializing these inmates, then releasing them. We would not even put animals in a situation where they would be isolated from others, because we understand the importance of socializing, but we do it to inmates and define it as humane and are confused why recidivism is so high. Solitary confinement without rehabilitation will lead to more issues, rather than solutions. Caging what society defines as animals, then isolating…

Programming language is a vital and essential part of computers. Even though you do not actually see these languages, they are the bases and make up of software programs. Software is essential to a computer because without software, a computer can do nothing. All of the software that we use to make our computers useful is created by individuals known as programmers; these programmers use different types of programming languages to develop software programs. The first primitive programming language was actually created for the invention of the ‘difference engine’. This invention created in 1822 by Charles Babbage was a mechanical calculator that would tabulate polynomial functions.…
