The Significance of Music

Think about a world without entertainment, a world without music. Not only would it be a very boring world, but also it would also not be educational in a way. In old and/or new songs, there is a lesson to be learned or a lesson being taught. An example of this is every song in the "School House of Rock." What I am trying to say is that music is important because it teaches you a lesson and it can set you in a totally different mood than you were in beforehand.

If you have not noticed, in every single song you have heard recently, the artist is teaching you usually about a lesson in life that you are going to encounter someday. For an example you can listen to a rapper named Nas single hit called, "I Know I Can." In this song, he talks about crack and all the bad drugs out there that are easily to get hooked on, going into adult clubs underage, and about people being raped or killed. Not only that, in his music video Nas and the kids say, "I know I can (I know I can) Be what I want to be (Be what I want to be) If I work hard at it (If I work hard at it) I will be where I wanna be (I will be where I wanna be.)" This is telling people mainly kids and teenagers not to do anything stupid in life and work hard at it, and you will be able to achieve all of your goals in life. For an incentive, Nas tells everybody that they were really wealthy and had kingdoms before gold was converted into money. This is a well-known song and so far I do not know anybody who likes rap that does not know or like that particular song from Nas. In fact, for some people that I know, it puts them into a totally different mood.

Have you ever been in a bad mood and put on a song that you like? Well I do not know about you but I have. In fact, it happened to me just a couple weeks ago. What happened was that I did something really bad on January 17th of 2004. My parents got really angry at me and at first I could handle it. But like most of us, we loose our patients

Music actually improves communication between the right and left sides of the brain, allowing you to gain better comprehension and memorization skills which develop your brain to a higher level. Music has so much to do with metaphors and understanding lyrics and truly understanding the meaning of a song. It even helps to improve reading and comprehensive skills. Take Tupac Shakur for instance, his rap music has such meaningful metaphors which should be used in the classroom because they can truly help teenagers understand the meaning of a metaphor and students will actually be interested in the topic. Music is such a complex language that even incorporates mathematics, science, history, physical education, coordination, and even mental ability. Most teenagers find hip hop artist like Tupac interesting because they can relate to Tupac 's music about daily life struggles about gangs, drugs and growing up in the "ghetto". Since teenagers go through these struggles we should help give them something to relate to so they can know the real world isn 't perfect and a lot of people can be going through the same struggles as…

Dick Clark once said, ¨Music is the soundtrack of your life.¨ Music is one of the most powerful and influential things in my life. Without the melodies and harmonies of music, my life would feel bland and meaningless. I have a very busy schedule and sometimes it is too easy to lose meaning in my everyday tasks, but with music I am able to keep meaning in my life. I use music to get me through the activities of my everyday life. Whether it is cleaning my room, doing homework, or just relaxing, music makes everything better. I think that music can convey feelings and emotions extraordinarily well. When words cannot do the job, music can. Along with that, I think that music accompanies memories very well also. Going back to Dick Clark’s quote, I think I would be able to make a timeline of my life just using song titles, albums, and…

Music is necessary for survival. Music is indeed a luxury but it also an important aspect of life. The way music sustains life is different from anything else. I strongly believe music is a part of all of us, no matter what we do. Music is an expression of our thoughts and emotions. Some people make music that can be enjoyed by everyone, while some can only enjoy it. Music has several unique ways to express a single idea. The one thing that can connect every individual with one thought is a miracle, which only complex mixtures of acoustic frequencies and amplitudes can generate. Music is not a luxury There is no question that music enriches us in countless ways.…

All throughout the world there are many different genres of music being played and listened to at all time of day. Music has a way of distracting people, making them forget about the world and just focus on what makes them happy. Each person has their own taste in music, the music that makes them happy. Therefore, the songs of the world have defiantly shaped our culture. Would our culture be the same without it? Most people would say “no” because music is a huge part of our culture and without it the idea of fun would be totally different. Many people listen to the same music resulting in bringing a community together to raise a better culture. Music has always been a part of mankind because every beat contributes to the tune of the song, doesn’t matter if it came from a stick tapping on the dirt or the notes coming from an instrument. The Beatles, an iconic band in the music world, made it easier for other artists like Michael Jackson and Beyoncé with their experimenting in the mid 1960s. Throughout centuries music has changed drastically to the present day, evolving slowly from the beginning. Whether we look at the past, present or future generation one thing is definite; each generation has something valuable to offer to the music industry.…

Development in a young child is very important. The rate at which a young child matures sets a child up for the rest of its life. Growth in a young child mostly includes hearing and speaking; if those skills do not develop or develop slowly it can majorly impact the child’s life. Music can help to keep this development regulate or to speed it up when a child falls behind. Many people are doubtful of this process. If you look back to your childhood, most people will find that the first things they learn as a kid are accompanied by music. For example, the little tune you would learn would help teach you to tie your shoes, say your ABC’s, or do many other things. In some case when a child has trouble with learning something we try to create a tune to teach them. In most of your children’s educational television shows the show is filled with music. Children learn these tunes and in time the lyrics click in the kids mind. In time the…

Prior to the first encounter of the song, I had experience dramatic changes in my life. My best friend had moved back to Brazil, I transferred schools, and the economy was still affecting my family. Unfortunately for me I was coping with these circumstances at the age of 12. Transferring and losing my best friend was difficult but then my parents had lost our house and our lifestyle was modified. Peachtree Charter Middle School was the worst decision my parents had made for me. I was bullied when I had transferred and I had no friends. The one friend I had at Peachtree was Allison, and she had transferred into a different school. I spent most of my middle school experience trying to survive the…

Music is a wonderful thing. There are many different genres and types of music out there. Music helps people with different things. It can help them through the day. It could also help them through a struggle they are going through. Music can get you motivated to start the day. Music can get the blood flowing in the morning. I like all music, except for country music. There is something about country music that is annoying to me. I don't know what it is, I just really despise country music. Music also has a lot of history. According to some people the earliest forms of music would have been simple drum instruments. They were easy to make. Since there was no written music they had to memorize beats or make new ones. Then the Greek mathematician…
