Throughout the Bible, the provisions of our ketubah are laid out for us. The Bible states the bride price, the promises of the bridegroom, and the rights of the bride. Our bridegroom Jesus promised to provide food, clothing, necessities, and whatever we asked in His name. In addition to the previous gifts, there is the giftings of the Holy Spirit, such as righteousness, grace, wisdom, and faith. Baptism is a cleansing ritual, just like mikveh. Both are symbolic of leaving an old way of life, and entering into a new way of life. When an ancient Jewish bridegroom would have left to go prepare a place for his bride; it was an understood Jewish custom that it was his duty to prepare for the eventual wedding. An ancient Jewish bridegroom would not have known when his father would say that the new chamber or room was ready, and that it was time to go, and snatch up, that is to say, rapture his bride. He would have continued to work on the place until his father said it was ready. Got to remember that Jesus was a carpenter! Was his trade here on Earth coincidental? I don't know, but I can't wait to see what he has prepared for those that love
