Hanna Hager loves the idea of Cardinal Care in it’s entirety as it’s a great learning experience for her students, “They're applying all knowledge from the earlier class early life span development along with the guidance techniques learned in mid to late life span development, it gives them the opportunity to advance their leadership and career along with technical skills as well as prepare them for their future families”. Hanna Hager believes that cardinal care is a great help to parents, she says that , ”Absolutely it’s a big help, it's a symbiotic relationship for the school and for the parents of participating students”. Cardinal Care has gone on for around two years now, when asked about plans Hanna Hager said, “I plan to continue Cardinal Care every year and begin to continue it in the spring since I have a bigger room this year”.
“Cardinal Care has taught me to have more patience and to be more understanding with kids, which is great to be honest.” This is a response from one of the students helping in cardinal care on how cardinal care has helped them thus far in the year.
Cardinal care helps most students in getting experience for future careers, one student actually said, “Well I want to be a teacher so I thought this would be a great stepping stone towards that”. Most students have come to say that they even feel that Cardinal Care is a great help to parents, “It lets parents gets things done, like getting groceries and running errands, while it also helps teach kids basic skills”.
Even the kids themselves have their own opinion of Cardinal Care at this point, some of them even have specific activities they like to do, “Let's see, let's see, I like to read to the big kids over there.” , this was a response given by one of the younger kids in Cardinal Care as she pointed to some of the students that help with Cardinal Care.Cardinal Care is one of the newest developments in learning here at the SCHS FCS department and it seems that it has helped parents of the community, students wanting to pursue careers in child care, and even the younger students in Cardinal
Care.
