Dystopian is when there is a bad Place or scene where people have no freedom, total government control ,surveillance ,violence, death, poverty known as an “imperfect” world. The hunger games can be considered a dystopian film. Having many dystopian characteristics playing a role through the film.
In the world of the hunger games it’s all about suffering, pain and depression set in the future. In a place called Panem people have agitated lives. They have complete government control known as dictatorship lead by snow. Snow is a very cruel man. The people from Panem have no freedom being watched day and night. Leading to depression event after event. The people in Panem live in an imperfect society suffering daily. There is two different kind of people rich and poor those who suffer more than others. The rich people get richer while others get less and less poor.

There was one female from district twelve named Katniss Everdeen followed along by one male named Peeta Mellark. Peeta has been in love with katniss. Peeta and the girl he loves are very different. They don’t have much in common there goals and the way the see things are two distinct things. Katniss already has a boyfriend named gale but she isn’t really “in love”. She has a feeling toward him but not in a romantic way. Katniss is confused. At the end she has some feeling for both guys. She has a boyfriend that she is unsure he loves and a guy she might like.
These are some characteristics of why I would say The Hunger Games is considered dystopian. All these negative events and scenes go together making an imperfect society. Showing weakness, suffrage, and pain throughout the days, night, months and years of the people who live in this districts. Everything is put together to make misery with the negative
