Imperialism: The takeover of a country or territory by a stronger nation with the intent of domination the economic, political and social life of the people of that nation. This is significant because it changed tremendously over this time period.

Old vs New Imperialism: Old Imperialism involved domination of the economic, political and social life of the the people of that nation. It was led by Spain and Portugal in the late 1400s-1500s. Also, it mainly focused on the Spanish gaining the 3 G’s. On the other hand, New Imperialism was led by Germany and France in the late 1800s. It involved the Berlin Conferences which regulated European colonization in Africa.
Industrial Revolution: The industrial revolution was a time in which most of the country transformed farms into industries. Spain needed more raw materials to sell finished goods, so they could make a profit from their products. This was significant because it changed the way people were making money and made life so much easier.
