but of power. I understand that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. I understand that with God all things are possible. I understand that he is my refuge and my shelter in the time of storms, however I still deal with the spirit of fear and taking risk. For some it is easy to step out of the boat and I can to but I fear sinking and failing. I know that failure is necessary for growth but not succeeding is a fear that I have and I want to achieve and succeed at everything I put my mind to. I miss out on opportunities to moved forward because I have a real hesitation about certain things. I think outside of the box and when I do take risk it is a calculated risk and I know what impact it will make. As a leader I understand that leaders are “Pioneers” that are willing to “step out into the unknown” as Kouzes & Posner said in the Leadership Challenge pg 20. How can I improve in this area is a good question, that I have found the answer to and willing to share.
I first must remain prayerful and trust God and never doubt. I must fast and take time to listen to God and when he says come, I have to go. I must trust that God has put me in a place to do something that others will not do in order to reach those who they can’t reach. I must understand and believe that failure is a teaching tool that I can use to enhance my leadership skills. I must continue to train and read material about leadership that will motivate and push me into the next level of leadership. I must look at Jesus and how he leads the disciples without fear and attempt to model after his leadership style by taking risk and know that it is for Kingdom Building and Soul Saving. If I follow these steps and move forward with the mindset of making a difference in the lives of many and those who follow me, it will pay off. As a leader I can not be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. As I work and learn all of my areas in Exemplary Leadership my assessments will improve and I will be firing on all ends. I will make an impact for the kingdom as well as help those who follow me in leadership. I desire to become one of the worlds greatest and most influential leaders that will move in the face of the enemy and stand firm on the word
