Essay On Exemplary Leadership
Pastor Dr. Stacy Spencer reminds us every class that “all of us have room and that’s room for improvement”. I believe this with everything in side of me which calls my attention to the five areas of Exemplary Leadership. Within those areas of leadership there is one area that I may focus on and pay close attention to as I am developed into a great leader. There are other areas that I have to improve in and continue to sharpen my tools, but this area requires the most attention. When it comes to the area of “Challenge the Process” this is my weakest area in the Exemplary Leadership Module. This area is the weakest because when operating in this area you have to make moves and take risk. I understand that God has not given us the spirit of fear …show more content…

I first must remain prayerful and trust God and never doubt. I must fast and take time to listen to God and when he says come, I have to go. I must trust that God has put me in a place to do something that others will not do in order to reach those who they can’t reach. I must understand and believe that failure is a teaching tool that I can use to enhance my leadership skills. I must continue to train and read material about leadership that will motivate and push me into the next level of leadership. I must look at Jesus and how he leads the disciples without fear and attempt to model after his leadership style by taking risk and know that it is for Kingdom Building and Soul Saving. If I follow these steps and move forward with the mindset of making a difference in the lives of many and those who follow me, it will pay off. As a leader I can not be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. As I work and learn all of my areas in Exemplary Leadership my assessments will improve and I will be firing on all ends. I will make an impact for the kingdom as well as help those who follow me in leadership. I desire to become one of the worlds greatest and most influential leaders that will move in the face of the enemy and stand firm on the word

The three characteristics of leadership that I consider most valuable are (1) integrity, (2) humility, and (3) generosity. #1 integrity is defined as great sincerity, honesty, and virtue. Strength of character. All of these words describe great qualities that should be possessed or obtained in the individual or individuals considered to fill a leadership role with exceptional expectations! In Chapter 1 of Kouzes& Posner’s The Leadership Challenge we are introduced to their “Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership”. These five tips actually make up one theory which was established after research on various leaders. The practices basically break down what leaders must commit to in order to relate to their workers, build relationships with them, increase the morale and productivity of the company, and essentially keep the company moving towards its goal . The chapter also, well in essence the entire book, is good with giving pertinent information and yet making it applicable to the everyday lives of others. The final and possibly most important key to me becoming a leader with a gallant personality is me developing my communication skills. The development of my communication skills is arguably the most important thing that I have done in high school. It all began in a communications class that I took during my sophomore year. Our first assignment was to give an informational speech on a topic of your choice. Despite the fact that I was apprehensive about giving my speech I did amazing and scored a ninety-nine percent. I believe that this speech is what began my fascination with communications, interaction with other people, and the business world. My junior was my first year in my marketing class. In marketing we take part in DECA competitions which is a business competition program. This is one of my favorite aspects of school simply because of the face to face interaction…

First and foremost, I’m simply not made to be a powerful leader. I am more of an inspirational teacher who will probably be underpaid due to my lack of surgency. I couldn’t be more okay with this; As long as I stay true to myself. My conscientiousness is more important to me than power or money any day. Another thing that I’ve learned about myself is that I need to work on building up my self-confidence. In order to influence others, the first step is to show them that I have absolute faith and confidence in what I’m doing. There’s no way that I will captivate a faithful audience if I’m questioning myself on the stage. One of the positive traits that I’ve learned about myself is that I’m flexible and dedicated. I will be open to working long hours and performing tasks that normally aren’t day to day for me in order to get the job done. I also am very honest and straight forward. The only goals that I truly plan to set are working on my confidence and possibly attempting to mingle a bit more in order to heighten my agreeableness. Overall, this has proven to be an incredibly informative class. I’m anxious to begin to apply the applications and theories on the…

I have been a part of many clubs and organizations where I have had the opportunities to lead a team or be a helping hand. I have had many leadership experiences and they are all great, however, there is one leadership role that makes me very proud of myself and I am a part of it everyday. Despite the fact that I am the youngest child in my family, I have always been my mother’s right hand. Coming from a refugee camp to a country seemed like worlds apart in terms of economics or through opportunities. We as family encountered many barriers that separated us from the American culture; barriers such as language, skills for working in various workplaces, and the customs of living itself. However, this did not stop my family from getting involved in any opportunity that could help us get to know the country and the people around us.…
