Essay On Intellectual Empathy

Being a strong critical thinker is a good characteristic for a person to have. I consider myself an overall strong thinker but there are some things that I could improve. Intellectual empathy is one that I have and able to do well. Recognizing the need to imaginatively put myself in the place of others to genuinely understand them is a characteristic that I process. At times you have to be considerate of others and make decisions based on the feelings of others. So Being able to imagine yourself in any given situation can help you see things in a different light. Intellectual courage is the willingness to face and fairly asses ideas, beliefs, or viewpoints to which they have not given a serious hearings, regardless of one's strong negative reaction to them. I am able to asses viewpoints, ideas, and beliefs fairly. A person's negativity can not affect my ability to asses ideas and so on. If I were a juror in a courtroom. My decisions can not be based on the other juror’s negativity.
I have many co worker of different ages. But I do expect the older co workers to do less work. It shouldn’t be that way because we all hold the same work title. But I look at it as a form of respect. The 50 and 60 year old might leave some of their unfinished work for me to do and I wont complain. If the 20 to 30 year old’s leave work I believe that they just don’t want to work. Intellectual courage is one that I also need to improve. Facing situations head on is sometimes nearly all the time a problem for me. Is almost like being caught off guard by situations. Seems like im very tense at the moment. It will take a little while for my nervousness to go away.
