Jem begins to understand that racism is a huge problem when the judge points Tom Robinson's case to Atticus. Next ,Jem finally comes to see that Judge Taylor naming Atticus to defend Tom was no accident" (215). He starts to see that is a bigger problem than it really is. Jem has changed throughout the story,as well as scout. Scout learns to respect people that live around her . There's just one kind of folks, why can't they get along with each other? If they're all alike, why do they go out of their way to despise each other? Scout, I think I'm beginning to understand something.
