Back in 2007, Football superstar, Michael Vick, was incarcerated for 23 months on the accusation of running a dog-fighting ring. He later confessed to these wrongdoings, knowing he would lose not only thousands of fans who looked up to him, but also many of his endorsement deals. It was revealed that he did indeed take responsibility for being apart of this dogfighting operation and held the ring on his 15-acre property. Gruesome details were shared with the public about the heinous acts such as execution of dogs in various ways. He got a great deal of backlash from not only the public, but many animal rights groups and humane societies. After countless apologies, Michael Vick promised the public that he would redeem himself.
Once the damage
He was also accepted back into the NFL and the hearts of many of his fans just after being released from prison. Vick even lobbied for a law that makes it a crime to knowingly attend an animal fight. To this day, Vick is actively involved with the Humane society and their campaigns. Even though he is not forgiven by everyone, he still cleared his name enough to earn him five more years in the NFL on multiple teams and eventually a career as an NFL studio analyst. Many thought this would be impossible for him to achieve, but with persistence (and a lot of cash) he managed to work his way back to being the NFL superstar everyone once knew.
