Resilience and the Military Spouse Being resilient is not any easy task and if anyone know what it means to be resilient, it is indeed the military spouse. Because of the constant ability to adjust to the many changes and adjustments that they deal with on a daily basis, there is no choice but to be resilient. Being resilient means being able to adapt and bounce back when something difficulty happens in lives of a military spouse (Sachan, 2012). It the ability to once again pick ourselves up after a trauma or painful experience. The levels of resiliency will change and develop throughout our lives. It is important to have resilience because it will improve learning and academic achievement. Operated through Army Community Service (ACS) centers that partner with the Employment Readiness Program (ERP), MSEP helps all military spouses, surviving spouses, DOD civilians, and family members get the training they need for employment. They also partner with corporate and federal employers who are willing to hire military spouses. Some of the benefits include up-to-date resource information for many employment opportunities, job market trends, and education resources.
