Essay on Myself
A friend of mine asked me to write an essay about myself….and I wondered that I did experience many writings but none of them were my own. Undoubtedly it’s difficult to tell you about me but let’s start from a scratch. I am Adeela Abbasi, born at Deena near Mangla in 1988. Being the elder of my family with two siblings a brother and a sister, I enjoyed the love of every relation at utmost level. My father belongs to a construction business and my mom is a house wife. Papa, having charismatic personality is the model of central devotion and dedication towards his family and mama is exemplary in her perfect communication and management skills. Fairly speaking, whenever I probe into their relationship and compatibility, I always praise ALLAH for being a perfect match maker. It is doubtless that I am endowed with a choicest blessing in form of them.
My education is the priority not only for me but for my family as well. I did my Bachelors in Business administration and now I am student of MS Islamic Banking and Finance. The choices made by me in choosing my educational career are entirely mine. I can’t be constrained to do anything by violence. During studies I excelled in science and finance subjects. My family supported me strongly in every arena. I was groomed on golden ethical, moral and Islamic principles for which I really appreciate my parents, teachers and elder’s efforts. Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities and I am abundantly gifted with this i.e. courage to take initiative, to support the weak, to stand for rights of others etc.
On the event of my bachelor’s farewell party my friends titled me as “Social Butterfly”. My social circle is very broad and that is because I have been experiencing a hostel life of long eight years. If someone ever comes to me with any problem, I always am at their service with some really easy, sensational and productive solution. But this arise a question that do the people annoy me? Yeah they

There is an unfortunate reality in that there are millions of people around the world who are willing to do almost anything, even lose themselves, just so they can be accepted and become part of the crowd. To keep things in perspective, wanting to be accepted, wanting to fit in is not exactly a bad thing. In fact, it’s basic human nature for survival and social growth, and it starts at a very young age. During our developmental years, we feel the need to be accepted or be worthy of acceptance. This can’t be met when you are isolated, other people have to be involved if these needs are to be met.…

I prefer to be true to myself, even at the endangerment of finding the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and finding my own detestation. Why should I worry about what others think of me? I don’t give a shit about how others perceive my personality because to begin with, I know myself and I also know my own demons — in which, at the outset, are just conventional behaviors of an ordinary human being.…

As far back as I can remember no one in my family talked about heritage or when and how we came to America. When I would ask questions the only answers that I ever received were, we are Indian, and that was from my fathers side of the family. My mother’s side of the family however was a different story. I have been told that I am part German and I am going to give as much information that I have of both sides of my Mother and Fathers families. After talking to my mother and learning where my ancestors came from I have a better understanding of my own culture, beliefs and biases.…

Walt Whitman’s poem, Song of Myself, is a collection of several small explanations of the meaning of life. Its starts of very abstract, but makes more sense once you read on. Whitman uses several different writing styles to bring across the point that everything in the world has meaning. He tells us about the significance of being present in the moment through 3 different characters; “I” the speaker that involves himself in everyday things, “Me myself” the observer of the world, and the “soul” which represents the more deep sentimental side of the speaker.…

Everyone has their own unique identity that does not connect with someone else’s, whether it be culturally, religiously, ethnically, sexually, or any type of background. My parents’ identities are incomprehensible to me, because I do not experience life the same way they did, and I did not grow up in the same situations in which they did. My cultural identity is inherited from my parents in a way that does not particularly connect with them--that is, it is inherited from their sense of self identity and capability to recognize who they are as people. While my my mom may associate herself as one way, my dad may associate himself as another, and I may see myself as nothing comparable to their identities. However, despite the vagueness of the inheritance of cultural identities, I am aware that I grew up and am growing up in a…

I have endured and overcome many obstacles, which have taught me many valuable lessons and have empowered me to become who I am today. My childhood was different from others, I grew up in a single parent home. I watched as my mother worked as hard as she possibly could to provide for my siblings and I. It was just us, no family or very many friends. They were all left behind in order for my mother to start a new life in a new country. Everyday, when she came home, I remember thinking that my mother deserved so much more than having to work this toilsome job. I felt culpable whenever she came home with a backache or feeling extra weary. I would later come to find out why she was working harder, more than usual.…
