This results in children who tend to be impulsive, low self-control, and lacking in self-reliance. Authoritarian parenting is a style in which parents are unresponsive, inflexible, and harsh in controlling behavior. This is related to apprehension, frustration, and passive hostility in European-American children throughout childhood and into adolescence.
