I feel that one of the most important skill that a police officer should have is good observation skills. It is important that law enforcement officers have good observation skills because they are essential in an investigation, every day duties, encounters with criminals and the determination of a situation. According to Dahl (2002) enforcing a law could not work if it was not for perception. Its entirety structure is based on perception. Infringement of the law are watched. Violators of the law are watched. Examinations are led exclusively by the power of perception. Advancement of this skill must be a policeman's prime focus. Police perception is essential both on and off duty. Numerous captures are made off duty by perception. Scenes, activities of people which would go unnoticed would be noticed by an officer who is constantly putting this skill into practice (Dahl, 2002).

According to Sargon (2015) trust is broken, and well being is traded off, when individuals experience discriminatory law enforcement. Citizens may think the police are biased and implement strategies unreasonably. Police may feel fault for a wide range of social issues, and think they don't get credit for doing their jobs (Sargon, 2015). By putting in place a system where police officers are more diverse this will ease of the racist mentally communities have towards the law enforcement. Police can reflect majorly in communities, children at young age tend to view police as role models, by having a diverse police force this will make children want to interact more with a police officer they feel more comfortable with .
