Essay On Preventing Childhood Obesity
Childhood obesity is when a child is overweight for his or her age and height. Childhood obesity has become a major problem in the United States, the percentage of overweight children is increasing. Ages 2 to 19 : about 31.8% are considered to be overweight or obese. Preventing childhood obesity now will help protect your child's health now and in the future.Children are supposed to get at least one hour of exercise everyday. There is ways in preventing childhood obesity , there are health risk and depression can be a cause of obesity in a child. Just as there is ways your child can become obese there is ways you and your child can prevent it. Your child can become obese if they consume more food than their body can handle and by getting no exercise at all . The first step in preventing …show more content…
Being obese as an adult has a serious number of health issues such as : heart disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and cancer. Currently, 7.6 million people die of cancer per year , 17.3 die of heart disease and 3.4 million people die of diabetes every year. In conclusion, we must find a way to end childhood obesity. Its simple to keep the childhood obesity rate down. Instead of letting children sit down in front of a video game or the tv get them to be active , make them go outside and play for at 30 mins or more. The best person to determine if a child is obese or not is the child's doctor. Your child should always eat healthy, get enough exercise and enough rest. Furthermore there are many effects of obesity such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. It is simple as getting off the couch and going outside to play to prevent childhood obesity. Parents should pay attention to their children eating habitats , their eating habits can be tied to depression. The childhood obesity rate increases each year , it's time to make the rate
