Differentiating from the standard procedure cart, the Isolation Trolley differs from the standard uses and is more of a storage use. These carts tend to house high volume storage for both equipment as well as waste. The isolation trolley is not used to house any drugs but to purely handle the required medical equipment and waste. These trolleys are one of the most common sights in the hospital where nearly 3 of these carts can be spotted in a ward and it amounts to a good reason for their presence.
These trolleys normally contain a drawer setting along with high volume containers for storing different medical equipments within it. These storage containers are under hospital regulations to be kept under lock and key to prevent any kind of theft and must be inspected daily and if needed must be replenished. The Isolation trolley normally consists of drawers which tend to carry stainless steel sterilized equipment which have a onetime use and must be disposed immediately
