Essay On Sports Related Injuries
There are many sports related injuries each year. “There are a reported 715,000 high school sports-related injuries experienced each year, and 8,000 children are treated in emergency rooms each day for sports related injuries” (“Fifteen Ways Parents Can Help Prevent Sports Related Injuries”). Sports are not always harmful but can be. To limit sports injuries, people will have to work together to educate each other, maintain their fitness, and enforce new laws and rules.
One of the first ways to prevent sports injuries is to educate people about it. Many people play sports. “More than 421,000 young men and women participate on more than 17,800 NCAA sponsored sports teams and more than seven million high school students play sports today” (“Fifteen Ways Parents Can Help Prevent Sports Injuries”). There are also common injuries in sports. Right now the most common injuries can happen in any sport. “Sports injuries generally occur for two different reasons: Trauma and overuse,” (“Five Tips For Preventing Sports Related Injuries”). If everyone can help prevent trauma and overuse, sports related injuries will decrease. With the right education injuries will be stopped.

Being out of shape at the start of a season does not mean a person can not play the sport. “If you are out of shape at the start of a season, gradually increase your activity level and slowly build back up to a higher fitness level” (“Football Injury Prevention”).
