Essay On Strategic Family Therapy
When analyzing the different aspects of the models, Structural Family Therapy and Strategic Family Therapy, they both provided beneficial information that is important, and have the opportunity in showing improvement and a change within a client and their family. They address and focus on presenting issue(s) that is the reason for a change in their family structure, and individually. The focus of this paper on L.E. and B.V.’s (daughter) conflicting relationship, because of the issue of substance, I believe that the Strategic Family Therapy model would be recommended to use in therapy sessions with them as it address their troubling relationship and issue. There can be some family members that may not be interactive with others, and there could be some that are unable to express themselves or may be low communicators. It will take much support needed and time in order for families to be able to work together, and overcome struggles in their family relationship. As for comforts, I hope that it would take place towards the end of family therapy. When that happens it shows that there was a positive change in a families’ relationship and issue(s). That effective and therapeutic change will determine the termination phase, based on observations and engagement in and out of sessions. I would make family therapy as part of my routine practice as a opportunity in getting acquainted with different families, their relationship style and structure, and values. It would be something new, and a learning experience for me; however, I am willing and have the drive to assist families, as I also assist clients, individually. When using Strategic Family Therapy model for family therapy, it would be astonishing to see families working together in one setting, instead of individually and
