Lower classes are social groups that have the lowest status. They’re at the bottom of the socioeconomic hierarchy. They have low income, low education, and low ranked jobs. Those who live in lower class households are at risk of falling under the poverty line. Their jobs might be as store cashiers, farmhands or tollbooth operators. Members of lower class lack a high school education. Their households are economically at risk. Lower class is divided into two categories. Upper lower and lower-lower make up these categories. Upper lower class is known as the working poor. These members have low education and minimum wage jobs. The members of the lower-lower class are known as the underclass. They are jobless, homeless and involved in crime.

They get to where they are now by hard work and hard work makes them move up classes. I think that promotion plays a part in which class you are set in. The three main layers in our American class system are known as lower, middle and upper classes. They define where are lives are placed and what social stratification is. These classes may have more or less than each other but I don’t think that defines who we are. There are many people who are working at places where they don’t want to, but they pay their bills.
