Amy Chua’s Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mom proves that while they both care about one another, the excess care between the two causes annoyance. While they both may show frustration, the daughter still stays obedient to her mother, and Chua keeps the annoyance to herself. Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club shows that there is lots of tension and hatred between the mother and daughter, causing them to become distant to one another. Both of them know each other’s weak points so they keep on arguing and arguing, getting deeper into their conflicts. Also, both are quick to let anger and pride blind them, which unables them to realize how important their relationships should be. Overall, both mother-daughter may be in the same situations as one another, but their methods of approach are far apart from each
