Oscar thought that the same thing could happen with each girl that he had will be with the other too, but in first moment that he meet them wants that every girl give him the same love and he doesn't care about their past or something they are how dont want to share things where maybe they can be judged. Oscar never left Ybon alone, he was there doing anything to trying be close with Ybon. She felt comfortable but she wasn't interested in him like Oscar in Ybon. After everything he did here is the moment when maybe Oscar can understand that he needed to stop because Ybon did not belong to him “[Oscar] Told them if they killed him they would probably feel nothing and their children would probably feel nothing either.” (Diaz 321) Oscar is saying exactly that although they kill him, he will never miss anything.
Oscar only wanted Ybon, more than everybody thought, she was his illusion and wished stay together with her but if this doesn't happens he doesn't have reason for live. It could be the worst time to talk about love but Oscar wasnt point where he could said everything he felt by Ybon “He told them that what they were doing, was wrong, that they were going to take a great love out of the world. [Oscar] Love was a rare thing, easily confused with a million other things, and if anybody knew this to be true it was him. He told them about Ybon and that they’d started to dream the same dreams and say the same words.” (Diaz 321) Oscar even in his last minutes of life he kept saying how the love he felt for Ybon, as it felt to love someone was.The love that Oscar had by her was so great but he didn't love himself and never worried about him, he need to stop doing these things because everything ended in the worst
